Il 4 maggio, a L’Aia, si \u00e8 tenuta una toccante commemorazione in occasione del Giorno della Memoria Nazionale dei Paesi Bassi. La cerimonia si \u00e8 svolta con solennit\u00e0 presso la Grote Kerk alla presenza del sindaco Jan van Zanen e con partecipazione dell’Ambasciatore Novello.<\/p>\n
Un momento di profonda riflessione \u00e8 stato offerto dal discorso centrale di John Dunkelgr\u00fcn, il cui padre ebreo fu salvato dall’Olocausto grazie ad un dipendente dell’Ambasciata italiana, Pacifico Marchesini.<\/p>\n
Nel suo intervento, Dunkelgr\u00fcn ha evocato la memoria di Pacifico Marchesini, riconosciuto come “giusto tra le nazioni”, sottolineando l’importanza del costante impegno dell’Ambasciata e dell’Ambasciatore nella preservazione di questa pagina dolorosa della storia.<\/p>\n
Dopo la cerimonia, i partecipanti, incluso l’Ambasciatore, hanno reso omaggio ai caduti depositando fiori al monumento di fronte al Palazzo della Pace. Un momento di raccoglimento e gratitudine che ha dato voce alle vittime e all’eroismo di coloro che hanno lottato per la giustizia e la dignit\u00e0 umana.<\/p>\n

On May 4th, in The Hague, a moving commemoration was held on the occasion of the National Remembrance Day of the Netherlands. The ceremony took place solemnly at the Grote Kerk in the presence of Mayor Jan van Zanen and with the participation of Ambassador Novello.<\/p>\n
A moment of deep reflection was provided by the keynote speech of John Dunkelgr\u00fcn, whose Jewish father was saved from the Holocaust by an employee of the Italian Embassy, Pacifico Marchesini.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Dunkelgr\u00fcn evoked the memory of Pacifico Marchesini, recognized as “Righteous Among the Nations,” highlighting the importance of the Embassy’s and the Ambassador’s ongoing commitment to preserving this painful page of history.<\/p>\n
After the ceremony, the participants, including the Ambassador, paid tribute to the fallen by laying flowers at the monument in front of the Peace Palace. A moment of contemplation and gratitude that gave voice to the victims and the heroism of those who fought for justice and human dignity.<\/p>\n
